Travelling from Europe

Getting to Gulmarg in Kashmir is not your average trip to the 3 vallees. If you are coming from Europe you will need to allow 12-24 hours to get here and return. So you want to allow 10 days rather than a week to allow you 6-7 days skiing as a minimum. Obviously if you can take two weeks off work all the better!

Flights

You need to budget £600-£800 for your flight per person. We recommend using Skyscanner to research your flight options. Carriers that operate all or part of your journey: Air India, Jet Airways are the main carriers you can usually do the whole flight with them, you will change at Mumbai or Delhi. Swiss, Etihad and Gulf also offer part of the journey from the Europe to either Mumbai or Delhi. Flying with Air India your ski bag is included in your baggage allowance saving you money when compared to budget airlines where you can often pay more to transport your skiis than yourself. Tell the airline before you travel and get them to confirm that this is included in your baggage allowance. It is £150 per bag otherwise!
